Ever have weeks where you’re hungry? All. The. Time.
That’s been me this week. And, I’ve had A LOT of snacks.
Which is why I always have a handful of healthy options in our cupboard! It’s a really simple way to feel more in control of your health and eat better consistently.
With that said, here’s 3 of my favs…
#1. Banana + Peanut Butter
I don’t know if you know this about me, but I LOOOOOVE peanut butter. And yes… you’ll sometimes find me standing at my kitchen counter eating a few spoonfuls straight from the tub. It’s a habit I continually “try to manage” 😉.
Combining peanut butter with banana is even better, though. The fibre in banana, and protein and healthy fats in peanut butter, give you a boost in energy and focus — that doesn’t make you feel tired and heavy again in 30 minutes.
Btw, my favourite peanut butter is Aldi’s “Grandessa” because it doesn’t contain any unnecessary ingredients.
#2. Nakd Raw Fruits & Nut Bars (or Lidl’s version of them)
I don’t know what you think, but in my opinion, there aren’t many 100% natural snacks available to buy in supermarkets. So, we end up buying these raw bars on repeat.
Compared to cereal bars, they can feel expensive, but they’re SO worth it. They don’t contain chemicals, processed fats or artificial sugars. All of which make weight management extremely difficult. And can also lead to brain fog and up and down moods.
Instead, these raw bars contain just a few simple ingredients that give you energy, a clearer mind and a fitter body.
#3. 85% Dark Chocolate
One of my favourite daily rituals is a piece of dark chocolate. With a cup of camomile tea. While chilling on our sofa, watching The Night Agent, just before bed.
However, some days, I crave it much earlier. And when I do, I sit at my dining room table, break my bar into 4 to 8 pieces and enjoy it as I work. I’ve found it to be one of the best motivation tools!
The best bit? Dark chocolate can reduce feelings of stress, boost your mood and improve your thinking. And yes… the darker your chocolate, the better.
