Quick Easy Healthy Food Ideas Becky Holliday

Are you looking for quick, easy and healthy food ideas that don’t feel, or taste, like low-calorie (not even good for you!) diet food? Or, maybe you’re tired of being told you have to stop eating “all the things” to be healthy?

Me too! I think we all are.

Whether your goal is to lose weight, eat better, or be healthier, sadly, we live in a world constantly telling us we must give things up to be healthy and successful.

In my opinion, and from experience, it’s a toxic societal lie that healthy food is boring—and that we have to give up what we enjoy. Lies that actually lead us to feel deprived, frustrated, guilty, and eventually an unmotivated loser, right?

These lies also give healthy food and eating a bad rep. They make being healthy sound and feel boring, restrictive, all or nothing, and even time-consuming. When in reality, it really isn’t.

Being healthy, and living a healthy lifestyle, is about balance. Not restriction. Choosing healthier alternatives when you can, and want to.

It’s about thinking long-term. In other words, what quick, easy and healthy food ideas can you find that you’re happy to stick with?

Me? I like to think about satisfying swaps when it comes to quick, easy and healthy food ideas. So, that’s what I’m sharing with you today. And, I’m hoping it inspires and motivates you to give some of these quick, easy and healthy ideas a go.

Rather than giving up things you love, let’s look at replacing them with healthier (tastier!) alternatives  🙌

What do I mean? Well, rather than giving anything up. Or, feeling you have to replace your beloved food with boring, bland (not good for you) diet food, I’m suggesting you find quick, easy and healthy food swaps instead.

Ones you actually look forward to and enjoy!

So, here are 10 quick, easy and healthy food swap ideas:

(1) SWAP your large daily cameral latte for a small skinny (no syrup) latte—and sometime in the future, try replacing it with black coffee and milk.

(2) SWAP your daily bowl of sugary cereal for Weetabix, porridge or overnight oats.

(3) SWAP your morning biscuit and afternoon crisps for a banana with peanut butter (this is honestly the best snack ever!), oatcakes and cheese, or some nuts and an apple

(4) SWAP sugar-laden fat-free yoghurt for full-fat or low-fat Greek or natural yoghurt.

(5) SWAP your favourite takeaway for supermarket-ready meals or pizzas—then in future, cook your own (there’s an unbelievable number of quick, easy and healthy ‘fakeaway’ recipes online).

(6) SWAP white for wholemeal and wholewheat bread and pasta.

(7) SWAP your burger and fries when out for a meal, for steak (filet, sirloin or flat iron) and chips.

(8) SWAP cream-based pasta sauces for tomato-based pasta.

(9) SWAP your high-sugar evening treat for a piece of dark chocolate or some berries with yoghurt

(10) SWAP that cake or muffin for a teacake, crumpet, plain croissant, plain doughnut or malt loaf.

In my view, these swaps are the best! They’re quick, easy and healthy—and not one feels or tastes bland, restrictive or joyless!

These swaps will give you more energy too—or, in other words, no more 3 pm slump for you!

What quick, easy and healthy food swaps pop into your mind that would work for you? Why not give one a go?

You deserve to be happy and healthy. So don’t deprive yourself. Choose quick, easy and healthy food ideas to replace some of your less healthy favourites. These healthier alternatives will become your new favourites in no time—trust me. Plus, you’ll never feel guilty or deprived.

The goal here is to reframe how you think about and approach losing weight, eating better and being healthier. Rather than reluctantly giving things up, embrace the challenge of finding quick, easy, healthy alternatives you enjoy.

Not only will you feel happier, but you’re also much more likely to succeed (with research showing when you deprive yourself you’re less likely to stick with something new).
