When you know the reason you eat that Twix, chocolate-covered Hobnobs, or salt and vinegar crisps, being healthier gets 10x easier.

Here’s how snacking works in 3 steps:

Step #1 

You crave a change in your emotional state — a relief from feeling unsure, stressed, overwhelmed or low.

Step #2 

You do something to change your energy — like make yourself a coffee and have a Snickers.

Step #3

You feel better — as you get a brief sense of relief, peace, control or motivation.

How does knowing this help you stop snacking? 

It gives you a simple, research-backed approach to change:

Don’t stop your negative habit. It won’t satisfy your craving.

Replace it with a healthy habit instead. And satisfy your craving guilt-free!

So next time you’re having a coffee, why not replace chocolate with a handful of nuts or oatcakes?
