3 Unusual Ways to Find Time For Yourself & Your Health Every Day

Yesterday, at 8.30am, I sat at my dining room table to start work. As usual, I picked up my A4 lined notepad and looked over my daily plan. Three work tasks. Two personal tasks. An appointment. And a walk with my friend.

Simple. Achievable. Motivating.

Obviously, it’s not always been this way. My to-do list used to be looooooong! Which meant little time for myself and my health. And a lack of energy and motivation to eat better, exercise more and focus on personal goals.

The sad reality? I didn’t achieve any more then, than I do now. I just felt stressed, overwhelmed and tired.

All this to say, I’ve worked hard to get here. To understand:

  • The best routine and schedule to achieve what’s most important to you — and feel healthy, fit and strong.
  • How our brain and body work so you can be as productive and focused as possible.
  • What we need to work on and prioritise to think clearly and have energy all day.

But here’s the most important part: I plan my day based on my definition of happiness and success.

Which got me wondering, what’s yours?

Having a consistent morning routine? That includes meditation, running and a healthy breakfast. Plus plenty of time to get ready so you feel attractive and confident in your own skin.

Finishing work before 6pm so you have time to make and enjoy a healthy supper? Spend quality time with your partner. And read Gone Girl in bed with a cup of camomile tea.

Or is it a more balanced life? One where you have time for your personal passions. The people you love. AND a career you enjoy, you’re good at and supports your professional growth.

Whatever your definition of happiness and success is, trust me, you can achieve it.

Your first step? Making time.

So, ask yourself, where in your life right now can you make a change that’ll give you more time for what’s important to you?

Here’s 3 unusual things that work for me:

  • Turn off all notifications on your phone and laptop
  • Check your emails and social media after 10am
  • Put your PJs on and get ready for bed before you sit down to chill at night

Want to know why I love these habits? They don’t just give you more time. They give you more peace of mind too.

They make you feel calmer. Lighter. In control. Which is what we all want, right?
